The
firm was founded in 1936 by John P. Walbran, (1913-1993). Mary P
(Moonan) Walbran, (1915-1995), his wife, joined the firm in 1938.
Before their marriage Mary practiced with Moonan and Moonan, Waseca,
founded by John N. Moonan, her grandfather, in 1887. Together John
and Mary practiced law for over 50 years. During WWII Mary served as
Steele County Attorney when John, who was County Attorney, was called
into the Navy.
In
2007 Mary Walbran was recognized by The Journal of Minnesota Law and
Politics as one of the 100 most influential attorneys in state
history and was inducted into “Minnesota's Legal Hall of Fame”.
